Frequently asked questions

Why would I want an AlloDuck mentor?

Sometimes the most useful person isn't an expert—it's someone a little ahead of you. AlloDuck connects you with a working mother who has already navigated some of the questions you're facing, from returning to work and childcare to relationships, identity, and ambition.

How will you choose who I meet?

We look at where you are now, what you're navigating, your career and life context, and what you actually want to talk about. During our early community, matches are thoughtfully made by hand—not randomly assigned by an algorithm.

What does the four-month mentorship actually look like?

You and your mentor decide what works for you. We'll provide light structure, conversation prompts, and occasional check-ins, but this isn't homework. The goal is to create space for the conversations you wish were easier to have.

Why become a mentor?

You've probably learned things about motherhood, work, partnership, childcare, and yourself that no handbook taught you. AlloDuck gives you a simple way to make that experience useful to another woman—without needing to be a coach or have all the answers.

What if the match doesn't feel right?

You'll see a short introduction before connecting, and both women choose whether to meet. There's no obligation to accept a match. We'd rather make fewer meaningful introductions than lots of mediocre ones.
